Nha Trang is one of Vietnam’s most pleasant beach resorts. Just a 50-minute flight from Ho Chi Minh City, the region is renowned for its pristine palm tree-lined beachfront and gentle waters which make for an enjoyable swimming experience. Numerous islands nearby are ideal for snorkelling and scuba diving and, given the resort’s proximity to the sea, it is not surprising that Nha Trang’s restaurants serve outstanding freshly caught fish, shrimp and squid.

HALF DAY NHA TRANG COUNTRYSIDE

8:00 am -9:30 am
Some families still keep the cottage industries. Visit a family weaving mats from locally-grown rushes. Two people working together will weave just four mats in a
day, which will then be taken to the local market.

9:30 am -10:30 am
Sample some of the tropical fruit grown in abundance locally at an old house. Walk on a village bridge where you can see children playing or if you are lucky seeing they are bathing their water buffalo at the end of a day’s work in the rice paddies (seasonal).

10:30 am -11:30 am
Before returning to Nha Trang, stop by the local market, the hub of the village where women gather daily to barter for goods and where trading wares is more commonplace than currency in this part of the countryside.
