Sapa is a town in the Lao Cai Province in northwestern Vietnam. Nestled in the Hoang Lien Son mountains, Sapa is known for its stunning natural scenery, including rice terraces, mountains, and valleys. The town is also home to a variety of ethnic minority groups, including the H’mong, Dzao, and Tay. Sapa is a popular tourist destination, especially for trekking and hiking.
LECH VILLAGE – THE AUTHENTIC NEIGHBOUR OF TOPAS ECOLODGE (2,5 HOURS)
The walk commences from Topas Ecolodge on a quiet road with a great view of the rice terrace below. Then take a slight ascent to Lech village. You will visit a local house, meet the friendly Red Dao hosts and experience their daily way of life.

The Red Dao women get their hair and eyes brows shaved like their ancestors and wear very colorful customs. They are famous for beautiful handmade embroidery and basket weaving. Later you may visit the villages school and will learn about education
and the school system in the Northern Mountains of Vietnam. Walk on small trails passing rice terraces and crossing a suspension bridge on the way back to Topas Ecolodge. (Remark: 2,5 hour-walking of 7km)
