HUE, VIETNAM
Huế is a city that symbolizes the strength and imperial majesty of past Vietnamese dynasties. Founded as a royal city in 1687 (the original citadel city of Phu Xuan was built on the same site), Huế is your gateway to the treasures of Vietnam’s royal past. Legacies of the city’s dynastic past are everywhere and keep visitors busy with visits to elaborate tombs and pagodas, mausoleums and assembly halls. Threaded along the beautiful Perfume River which flows through the city, the unique and extraordinary monuments serve as a guide to the lives of Vietnam’s last emperors.
HALF DAY CULINARY AT ANCIENT HUE ( 3 HOURS )

The former capital of the last royal dynasty of Vietnam, Hue is well known for its local cuisine. Authentic, delicate and still inheriting many influences and flavors from its royal past, the culinary delights of Hue are as much a part of its attraction as the Royal Citadel and ancient tombs scattered along the banks of the Perfume River.

Today’s cooking class at Ancient Hue venue presents the perfect opportunity to experience its preparation firsthand – from visiting the local market to buy the ingredients to cooking and tasting the variety of dishes on offer.
Heading into the throng of Old Hue, the morning begins with a visit to Dong Ba market, the largest marketplace in the city. Inside all manner of goods can be found and the market is an excellent place to observe Vietnamese life and learn a little about the types of produce on display.

Ancient Hue itself is based in a traditional Hu home, maintained by a local family for many generations. The class takes approximately 2 hours and with the guidance of the head chef, you will prepare a selection of mouth-watering dishes.
