“The West is known as the Mekong Delta. The land belongs to the lower Mekong River, this place has a large
amount of silt, which has a variety of fruits. This is the largest granary in Vietnam. People’s activities mostly
take place floating on the water. Let’s explore the beauty of this floating water to learn more about nature,
lifestyle, and people here.
GLIMPSE OF CHAU DOC WITH ME KONG QUEEN
Day 1: Sai Gon -Cai Be – Can Tho
10:00 am- 11:00 am
The 2.5-hour drive take you to Cai Be town, in the heart of the Mekong Delta. On arrival, board a traditional charming boat named Mekong Queen at a local pier and start cruising along one of the Mekong river’s branches while sampling local fresh fruits.
11:00 am- 12:00 am
The first stop today is a visit to a local ancient house which was dated back to the 19th century but has been well preserved and proudly passed down through many generations of the family. Lunch is unique dishes of Me Kong Delta on the boat.

13:00 pm-14:00 pm
Cross the mighty Mekong River and temporarily disembark your cruise for quick visits to local families who make traditional and handicraft products such as decorative plates and handbags made from water hyacinth; hammocks made from banana ropes.
 
14:00 pm-16:00pm
Board a sampan for a leisure ride through narrow canals on the island. Chance to discover the local river life before
taking a leisure walk through the village’s shady backroads with fruitful orchards along the way.Take a short cruise to Cai Be. From here, continue by car to CanTho
Day 2: Can Tho- Chau Doc
7:00 am- 9:00 am
Get on a local motorized boat for a cruise to the small-scale Cai Rang floating market. In the past, when there
were no concrete bridges, it was the most lively trading spot with fruits, vegetables, and all manner of groceries.
With the urbanization there are much fewer boats gathering for trading nowadays, however, you can still feel the
rustic vibes of a traditional floating market.

10:00 am- 11:00 am
Then continue to explore another part of the city by bike. Hop on a leisurely 10km bike ride along Muong Dinh canal, where you can enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Meander along narrow village roads, pass through lush fruit gardens.
11:00 am- 12:00 am
Visit a Fine Rice Vermicelli – Banh Hoi – workshop, where you can witness the process of making this traditional Vietnamese delicacy. Then afternoon, we will on boat go to Chau Doc. Dinner on your own account.
Day 3: Can Tho- Chau Doc- Sai Gon
7:00 am- 9:00 am Fishing is at the heart of farming in the Mekong Delta and next you will visit a floating village and fishery to learn about the lives of the countless families whose livelihoods rely on this industry. An early morning
visit to floating homes where villagers cultivate freshwater fish and shrimps in nets and wire baskets
under their houses and sell them to passing boats.

9:00 am- 14:30 am
Take journey of approximately 5.5 120 hours to return to Saigon afterward. Optional visit to a Khmer village
before returning Saigon with lunch en route at a local restaurant. (Alternatively continue by speedboat across
the border to Cambodia with supplement applicable).
