EXPLORING NINH BINH CLASSIC

Day 1: Hanoi – Ninh Binh

From 7:00 am – 11:00 am

In the morning, take a 2-hour drive to Ninh Binh and pass through rural villages and farmlands en route. Upon arrival, visit the remains of the once impressive citadel of Hoa Lu, the capital of Vietnam in the 10th and 11th centuries. It witnessed many important historical events in the early days: the union of Vietnam after the rebellion of 12 warlords, the war with China’s Southern Han Dynasty, and the formation of Hanoi.

From 11:00 am – 12:00 am

Undertake the climb of some 200 steps for a rewarding view and exploration of the temple of Dinh Tien Hoang Emperor. Lunch is at a rustic local restaurant with Ninh Binh specialties.

From 13:00 pm – 15:00 pm

Drive to Tam Coc for a 2-hour rowing boat trip along the Boi River and enjoy the scenery of Tam Coc grottos, seasonal rice fields, and the life of farmers in the Red River Delta. Due to the huge rock formations jutting out of the rice paddies, the area is sometimes referred to Halong Bay on Land. Return to the pier and the remainder of the afternoon is to relax.

Day 2: Ninh Binh – Ha Noi

From 7:00 am – 12:00 am

Van Long is Vietnam’s largest wetlands and ideal to discover a diverse mix of flora, fauna, and birdlife on a leisure biking trip. Van Long’s fauna includes 39 species of birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish. Some of these species have been classified as globally endangered animals such as the white-breeched languor which can be seen occasionally in the early morning or late afternoon. Return to your hotel for a rest and transfer back to Hanoi. The remainder of the day is at your leisure.
