THE PERFUME PAGODA (HƯƠNG PAGODA)
The Perfume Pagoda, or Hương Pagoda, is a complex of Buddhist temples and shrines built into the limestone Hương Tích Mountains. It is located in My Duc District, Hanoi, Vietnam, about 60 kilometers southwest of the city center. The pagoda is a popular pilgrimage site for Vietnamese Buddhists and is also a well-known tourist destination.

The Perfume (Huong) Pagoda is one of the most popular and important religious sites in Buddhist Vietnam. The site was discovered over 2,000 years ago by a Buddhist monk who was meditating nearby. The mountain foothills are an area of great natural and spiritual beauty, filled with streams, tropical plants, and temples. At the heart of this complex lies the Perfume Temple, or Perfume Pagoda, in the Huong Tich Cave.
The pagoda complex includes a number of temples, shrines, and caves, as well as natural features such as waterfalls and springs. The most popular time to visit Hương Pagoda is during the Hương Pagoda Festival, which takes place from the beginning of January to the end of March of the lunar calendar. During the festival, the pagoda is visited by millions of pilgrims and tourists from all over Vietnam and around the world.
Begin your journey by traveling through rolling countryside landscapes of crops and rice paddies, where you will witness farmers hard at work in the fields. Board a sampan (a simple flat-bottomed rowing boat) for a serene ride to the enormous complex of pagodas and shrines built into the cliffs of Huong Tich Mountain.

REMARKS: It is recommended to avoid peak pilgrimage periods. Perfume Pagoda is considered a site of great reverence, and during important holidays such as the Mid-Autumn Festival and Lunar New Year, thousands of Vietnamese pilgrims come here to pray for health and prosperity.
