8:00-10:30 am:
Embark on 2,5-hour drive from Saigon and upon arrival, get on board a traditional wooden motorized boat to explore Ben Tre.

10:30-12:30 am:
Cruise along the Ham Luong River and optional visit to a few venues that offer a glimpse into traditional economy. Walk around a brick kiln factory where the baking methods have not changed for centuries. Visit a coconut processing workshop where you can sample fresh coconut and see how every single part of this versatile nut is turned into food and other products. Observe straw mats are woven using a hand loom

 

12:30-14:00 pm:
Stop at a typical village for a short walk to see more of local life in the community before travelling by bicycle or motor-tricycle through fruit orchards before stopping at a rustic riverside restaurant for lunch. The lunch will feature local specialties such as elephant ear fish and river shrimp.

 

14:00-14:30 pm:
Take a rowing boat along narrow canals back to the main boat.

14:30-17:00 pm:
Tourists will return to Saigon in 2.5 hours by car.

* REMARKS: The dining establishments in Ben Tre offer a more rustic, authentic dining experience that may not be as upscale as some visitors are accustomed to. Due to heavy traffic jams during the festive season, it is recommended to avoid traveling to Mekong Delta one week before Tet holidays; and the first 7 days of the Tet holidays since all industry cottages are closed down.
