Full description

The class lasts approximately 3 hours, beginning with a guided visit to a traditional local market. Your guide will introduce you to the essential ingredients used in Vietnamese cuisine, giving you a better understanding of Vietnamese food as well as the herbs and spices that play an important role in many Asian dishes.

You’ll also learn a few useful Vietnamese words and phrases to help you buy and bargain for ingredients yourself—skills that will come in handy throughout your trip in Vietnam.

After purchasing the ingredients for your selected menu, you’ll return to our cooking studio. The chef will explain the basic principles and cooking techniques behind each dish before demonstrating how to prepare them. Then it’s your turn to cook, plate, and enjoy your very own Vietnamese feast!

This is a truly hands-on cooking experience. You’ll choose and bargain for your own ingredients, then prepare every dish from scratch. By the end of the class, you’ll leave with unforgettable memories of Vietnam, practical cooking skills, and the confidence to recreate authentic Vietnamese dishes for your family and friends back home.

Itinerary

  • Meet at 08 Gia Ngu Street, Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi.

  • Visit a traditional local market to explore Vietnamese ingredients, learn how to select fresh produce, and practice bargaining.

  • Return to the kitchen and prepare your own 5-dish Vietnamese meal.

  • Enjoy your homemade dishes, receive a certificate of completion and a cookbook. The class then concludes.
