The art of water puppetry has a distinct Vietnamese identity. It came into existence more than a thousand years ago in the Red River Delta.
In its earliest days, water puppetry portrayed the daily life of villagers â in farming and fishing activities, childrenâs play, and romance. Today, the performance also brings in ancient legends and myths.
