CAI BE – CAN THO WITH ME KONG QUEEN
Day 1: Saigon – Cai Be – Can Tho
Departure from Saigon for a scenic drive to Cai Be, a charming town in the heart of the Mekong Delta. The first stop today is a visit to a local ancient house which was dated back to the 19th century but has been well preserved and proudly passed down through many generations of the family. Cross the mighty Mekong River and temporarily disembark your cruise for quick visits to local families who make traditional and handicraft products such as decorative plates and handbags made from water hyacinth; hammocks made from banana ropes.
Your journey finally comes to its last part after a tasty lunch with Mekong Delta’s specialties. Take a short cruise to Cai Be pier where your excursion ends. From here, continue by car to Can Tho, the Delta’s economic hub.

Day 2: Can Tho – Saigon
After an early breakfast at your hotel, get on a local motorized boat for a cruise to the small-scale Cai Rang floating market. In the past, when there were no concrete bridges, it was the most lively trading spot where you could see a profusion of boats laden with fruits, vegetables and all manner of groceries.
Continue your local boat cruise along narrow creeks where you will visit an orchard and get an insight into a farmer’s daily life. After sampling seasonal fruits, return to town through the labyrinth of canals.
The boat trip ends around 10.00am. Return to Can Tho town, visit a Khmer pagoda before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant. This afternoon, return to Saigon by car, a journey of approximately 3 hours.
