LAO CAI, VIET NAM
Nestled amidst the majestic Hoang Lien Son mountains in northern Vietnam, Sapa beckons travelers with its captivating blend of natural splendor and rich cultural heritage. Verdant rice terraces cascade down the hillsides, painting a picturesque panorama that stretches as far as the eye can behold. Hill tribes, adorned in vibrant traditional attire, inhabit quaint villages, offering glimpses into age-old customs and traditions.
Day 1: Hanoi – Lao Cai (Overnight train)
Take the evening train to Lao Cai transfer to Hanoi railway station for the overnight train to Lao Cai. Departure time is scheduled for 10.00 pm overnight on the train.
Day 2: Arrive Lao Cai – Sapa – Lech village from
Topas Ecolodge Upon arrival in Sapa, transfer to your hotel outside the bustling Sapa downtown. Embark on a leisurely walk from Topas Ecolodge along a scenic path overlooking rice terraces.
Then take a slight ascent to Lech village, visit a local house, meet the friendly Red Dao hosts, and experience their daily way of life. Hike on small trails through rice terraces, crossing a suspension bridge, and gain insights into local farming practices.
Day 3: Sapa – Muong Bo valley – Ban Ho – Nam Toong – My Son village
This day features a full-day trek through stunning landscapes. Transfer from your hotel to Ban Ho village, nestled within the Muong Bo Valley. This village is home to the Tay ethnic group, renowned for their traditional cuisine and stilt houses. Explore the village and meet the friendly Tay people in their homes.
You will then continue to hike uphill to Nam Toong, a village of Red Dao ethnic located in the mountainside. Savor a picnic lunch at a scenic spot along the way. Cross a beautiful suspension bridge and reach My Son village, home to the Xa Pho ethnic group, one of the smallest ethnicities in Northern Vietnam. Visit a local house and explore the village, experiencing their unique culture.
Day 4: Sapa – Hanoi
Enjoy the peacefulness of the surrounding around your hotel before embarking on a 5.5-hour drive back to Hanoi. Snack choice is on your own arrangement at the local stop en route.
