Huế is a city that symbolizes the strength and imperial majesty of past Vietnamese dynasties. Founded as a royal city in 1687 (the original citadel city of Phu Xuan was built on the same site), Hué is your gateway to the treasures of Vietnam’s royal past. Legacies of the city’s dynastic past are everywhere and keep visitors busy with visits to elaborate tombs and pagodas, mausoleums and assembly halls.

DISCOVER BACH MA NATIONAL PARK (10 HOURS)

Just an hour drive south of Hue, Bach Ma National Park is the nature lovers’ paradise. It is known for its semi-tropical rainforest beauty, cool climate, and diverse flora and fauna. The park is home to a variety of hiking trails, waterfalls, and scenic viewpoints, making it a popular destination for both Vietnamese and international tourists. It first attracted the attention of the French colonialists in the 1930s because of its cool climate. The French built many villas and hotels that you can see a few left.

It is home to more than 200 varieties of birdlife as well redshanked douc, a primate also known as ‘costumed ape’.

Hiking around jungle trails visit stunning lakes, waterfalls and get panorama view from the summit.

At 7.30 AM you will be collected from your hotel and driven 35 km south of Hue to the entrance of the National Park. After an introduction and orientation at the Visitors’ Centre, you will continue by transport to the highest point in the park, Hai Vong Dai or Sea-View Tower.

Weather permitting, there will be wonderful views of the surrounding countryside from here. From the summit, there is the opportunity to hike the Five Lakes trail and cool off or swim in one of the several rock pools along its route.

After a break for lunch at a local restaurant, visit Rhododendron Falls, one of the biggest and most impressive waterfalls in the park. The day will end with a return transfer to your hotel in Hue, where you should arrive at approximately 5 PM.
