BA VI NATURE & COLONIAL VESTIGES (8 HOURS)

Around 8:00 am, meet with your guide at your hotel in Hanoi for a 1,5 hours travelling to Ba Vi Mountain, which is located about 65 km from Hanoi. Upon arrival, start the 6km trekking to explore colonial vestige sites covered by moss layers.

First, visit the former French prison where you need to climb over the cliffs at some distances. Inside the prison, there are still many imprints of shackles and cells. Tree roots engulfing the ruined architecture create a mystical scene. Some parts of the buildings remain intact, revealing the French architectural style in their stairs, floors, pillars, and wall. From here, walk along the pathway down to about 300 meters to see the white cliff. The hundred-meter-heigh cliff standing for hundreds of years creates a magnificent scene.

After this section, enter a lighter route where you immerse in the radiance of the fern path with solemn bamboo trees on both sides, in the burbles of Ngoc Hoa stream. The stream is named after the daughter of Hung King and is also the main source of water in Ba Vi area.

Walk up to Melia Ba Vi Mountain retreat, which was built on the foundations of an old French resort for late lunch. The venue has a unique location amid the natural beauty of Ba Vi Mountain Range, blending a perfect fusion of French colonial architecture and the traditional architecture of Vietnam’s northern region. Then transfer back to Hanoi in the afternoon.
