FULL DAY CUC PHUONG NATIONAL PARK (10 HOURS)

Located around 140 km south of Hanoi in Ninh Binh Province, Cuc Phuong was established in 1962 and is Vietnam’s oldest national park. After a 2-hour drive, indulge yourself in a nature hike and explore the botanical life, giant trees, prehistoric caves, and the Endangered Primates Rescue Centre.

The park boasts a diverse ecosystem, encompassing over 16,000 plant species and more than 300 animal species, including several rare and endemic ones. Once at the park, hike with your guide and take in the flora and fauna of the national park while learning about the botanical richness of the forest.

Cuc Phuong National Park is blanketed by lush primary forests, with towering ancient trees that have stood for millennia. It serves as a habitat for numerous endangered creatures such as black langurs, sun bears, leopards, and silver-cheeked gibbons.

You will also visit the Endangered Primates Rescue Centre, established in 1993 as a project of the Frankfurt Zoological Society. One of the centre’s most important roles is its langur breeding programme, which helps ensure the protection of several species of this long-tailed Asian monkey, including Delacour’s langur, Black langur, Lao langur, and the Grey-shanked Douc langur.

Stop by the gigantic one-thousand-year-old sequoia tree and visit a cave once used by prehistoric humans, now serving as a refuge for bats.

Lunch will be served at the park’s headquarters, after which there will be more time to explore this enchanting natural sanctuary before returning to Hanoi.
