Hang Tien, also known as the “Fairy Cave,” is a hidden gem nestled within the Tu Lan Cave System in Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park. This captivating dry cave beckons adventurers with its mesmerizing calcite formations, striped limestone layers, and a refreshing natural infinity pool.   • FULL DAY HANG TIEN DISCOVERY

Meet your guide at your Phong Nha hotel at 7:00 AM and embark on a scenic drive to the Tan Hoa village, home to ethnic minorities. After a safety briefing and gear check, you’ll begin your adventure with an uphill trek followed by a descent to the river valley.

Enter into the cave, you will be surrounded by calcite formations cloaked in green plant life. The striped limestone layers are clearly visible on the walls and roof dome high in the roof and layers of calcite resemble terraced fields.

Keep on going deep inside the cave and discover the mysterious attraction and impressive cave formations that mother nature created in Hang Tien.

The Rao Nan stream creates a breathtaking natural infinity pool nestled within the heart of the mountains. Take a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear blue water before enjoying a delicious picnic lunch.

You will return to the Rao Nan River and walk back through the farmland. Return to Phong Nha at about 07.00 pm.

Things to bring along

1 long (easy to dry) pants and 1 long-sleeved shirt to wear during the trek (quick dry)

1 pair of trekking boots/shoes-difficult terrain, good footwear necessary. Gore-Tex/waterproof boots are NOT recommended as they do not drain well (if you prefer your own comfortable pair)

backpack (15-20l) to hold personal items.

change of clothes for after the tour

pair of calf-length densely woven socks (not ankle socks!)

Personal items: mosquito repellent, sunglasses, hat, camera

Fitness preparation for the Hang Tien Experience tour

The Hang Tien Experience Tour is rated as level 3 (moderate) in the 6-level adventure scale of Oxalis Adventure. The tour is designed for people with a passion for experiencing nature. The trekking adventure scale is based on the physical fitness and health of average active people, not runners or athletes or intensively active people. Anyone can join these one day caving adventures if they play some sports and are reasonably active.
