FULL DAY TRADITIONAL CRAFT OF ZO PAPER (9 HOURS)

Zó is the oldest paper that appeared more than 800 years ago in Vietnam for being the strongest and most durable especially. However, making this paper is gradually sinking into oblivion. Zó project is a social business that preserves, supports, and expands Vietnamese traditional paper and its making technique in a sustainable and creative way. Today, enjoy a 1,5-hour scenic drive up Northwest of Hanoi to Hoa Binh province

Enjoy a papermaking tour to Hoa Binh to understand how the craftsman revives the traditional crafts of making Zó paper and get an insight into the livelihood of the Muong ethnic minority in the North of Vietnam. Have first-hand experience watching the process of making rustic paper when it is just the bark of a tree until it becomes the complete paper only by hand. Then make your own paper and decorate it with flowers, corns, plants, with the help of the secret from 800 years ago of Vietnamese craftsman. Enjoy a peaceful and relaxing day away from Hanoi’s hustle and bustle with some fresh air and a bamboo house being your hideaway for the day.

After a simple lunch at a local restaurant, drive back to your hotel.
