FULL DAY ULTIMATE NINH BINH (9,5 HOURS)

After breakfast, around 8.00 am, depart Hanoi and transfer by road to Ninh Binh. The journey takes approximately 2 hours, passing through rural villages and farmlands on the way.

Upon arrival, enjoy a 2-hour rowing boat trip along the Boi River and enjoy the scenery of Tam Coc grottos, seasonal rice fields and the life of farmers in the Red River Delta. Due to the huge rock formations jutting out of the rice paddies, the area is sometimes referred to as “Halong Bay on Landâ€.

Return to the pier and have lunch at a rustic local restaurant with Ninh Binh specialities.

Afternoon schedule:

In the afternoon, visit the remains of the once impressive citadel of Hoa Lu, once the capital of Vietnam in the 10th and 11th centuries. It witnessed many important historical events in the early days: the union of Vietnam after the rebellion of 12 warlords, the war with China’s Southern Han Dynasty, and the formation of Hanoi.

The more energetic may undertake the climb of some 200 steps for a rewarding view and exploration of the temple of Dinh Tien Hoang Emperor.

Transfer back to Hanoi.
