In the 16th century, the ancient town of Hoi An was one of the major trading centers of Southeast Asia and was declared a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1999. Hoi An has a distinctive Chinese atmosphere with narrow streets and colorful houses decorated with lacquer panels engraved with Chinese characters. Originally a harbour for the Cham city at My Son, the town became a trading port for Chinese, Japanese and European traders, reaching its peak during the 17th century. The different influences on this riverside town over the centuries have resulted in an eclectic mix of architectural styles, ranging from Chinese assembly halls to grand merchants’ houses to French colonial villas.

This bustling market is a great place to wander around, do some souvenir shopping, and try some local snacks. You can find everything from fresh produce and seafood to local crafts and clothing.

This 2.5-hour cooking class will teach you about Vietnamese cuisine and give you the opportunity to learn how to make some of the country’s most popular dishes. The class starts with a demonstration from the chef, followed by your own hands-on preparation of the dishes. You’ll learn how to make rice paper, rice crackers, noodles, and other Vietnamese specialties.

This is a great opportunity to try some new foods and learn more about Vietnamese cuisine. Receive Recipes and Souvenirs. At the end of the class, you’ll receive a copy of the recipes you learned, so you can try to recreate these dishes at home.
