In the 16th century, the ancient town of Hoi An was one of the major trading centers of Southeast Asia and was declared a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1999. Hoi An has a distinctive Chinese atmosphere with narrow streets and colorful houses decorated with lacquer panels engraved with Chinese characters. Originally a harbour for the Cham city at My Son, the town became a trading port for Chinese, Japanese and European traders, reaching its peak during the 17th century. The different influences on this riverside town over the centuries have resulted in an eclectic mix of architectural styles, ranging from Chinese assembly halls to grand merchants’ houses to French colonial villas.

Kick off the day with a brief bike ride to Tra Que village. Situated on the outskirts of Hoi An, this small community is famous for its organic gardens teeming with fresh herbs, spices, and vegetables. Dive into assisting in preparing the land for planting with traditional farming tools in hand. Contribute by fertilizing the soil with seaweed from the
nearby river, watering it with twin watering cans carried on a bamboo pole across your shoulders, and finally, participating in the picking and packaging activities.

You will be rewarded for your handwork with herbal foot massage
At 10:00 am and 11:00 am,
Then have fun making Tam Huu, spring rolls made with local herbs and vegetables, before enjoying a scrumptious meal using locally produced ingredients and age-old family recipes
