HUE, VIETNAM
Huế is a city that symbolizes the strength and imperial majesty of past Vietnamese dynasties. Founded as a royal city in 1687 (the original citadel city of Phu Xuan was built on the same site), Huế is your gateway to the treasures of Vietnam’s royal past. Legacies of the city’s dynastic past are everywhere and keep visitors busy with visits to elaborate tombs and pagodas, mausoleums and assembly halls.
HALF DAY HUE FAMILY FUN ( 4 HOURS )
Start the trip with a visit to the external ring of Tiger Fighting Arena for its unique architecture of openair doughnut shape. Since 1832, the Nguyen Emperors attended the area to view uneven contests between elephants and tigers. Being a symbol of imperial prestige, elephant victory was always assured. Educational entertainment during travel helps kids understand and appreciate what they have in life.

Engage in an interactive workshop at HOPE Vocation Center that has been assisting disabled and disadvantaged minority groups to take their place in
society. Chance for the whole family to knit telephone-wire products from recycled electric wires and turn them into practical products or make artistic pottery items on a wheel.

Then wind your way to the home of an artisan to hear about the history of kite flying once entertainment favored by the mandarins of the Nguyen Dynasty. With traditional methods, create your one-of-a-kind kite. If the weather permits in the late afternoon, it is possible to fly your DYI kite under a local artisan’s guidance. Transfer back to your hotel afterward. Remark: An afternoon tour is more recommended since the family can fly their own kites with the wind (if weather permits)
