Embark on a 30-minute drive to the 700-year-old ceramic village of Bat Trang situated on the banks of the
Red river and famous for the expertly crafted ceramics produced by the village artisans. This excursion
provides an excellent insight into rural life and ancient crafts dating back to the 10th century.
Start exploring the old charms of the village by walking through the narrow alleys of the ancient part of the village. Optional learn the intricate steps involved in making ceramic works of art at a workshop.
Then roll up your sleeves and sink your hands into soft clay while creating pottery using the time-tested techniques of the local craftsmen. At the end of the workshop, participants can take home their creations as cherished mementos of their time in Bat Trang.
There is a chance to visit the first private museum in Bat Trang village. Discover the typical ceramic masterpieces by the late Artisan Vu Thang with great enthusiasm throughout his 50 years of working.This place sowed the seed of an excellent generation of artisans with unparalleled skill in craftsmanship and continued to have a considerable contribution to prolonging and protecting the precious heritage passed down by ancestors.
