- You will be picked up from your hotel in downtown Ho Chi Minh City by a local guide, who will be delighted to share anecdotes and insights into local life throughout the day. Enjoy a comfortable 2 to 2.5 hour drive to Dong Thap Province, with a short stop en route for refreshments if needed.
- You will arrive at the Xeo Quyt Cajuput Forest Ecological Area, where nature and history intertwine. Board a traditional sampan and glide peacefully along the narrow waterways hidden within the cajuput forest. This tranquil spot was once a revolutionary base. Today, it offers a serene atmosphere filled with birdsong and lush vegetation.
- After the boat trip, savor a delicious Vietnamese lunch at a local restaurant. Vegetarian, vegan, or special dietary meals are available upon request. You will then cross the Mekong River on a local public ferry, a simple yet authentic experience that locals have enjoyed for generations.
- Continue your journey to the flower village of Sa Dec, a 300-year-old village recognized as a national heritage site. Discover the unique way locals cultivate flowers in small baskets raised on wooden frames, and take a short sampan ride through the colorful flower fields, enjoying the fresh fragrance of the plants and blossoms.
- Sa Dec is also famous for the love story “The Lover” by French writer Marguerite Duras. Visit the historic Huỳnh Thủy Lệ House, then stroll leisurely to a nearby local market and an ancient temple to soak up the true spirit of local life. Relax on the return journey to Ho Chi Minh City, where your guide will drop you off at your hotel or in the city center, upon request.
