The audience was not limited to watching from their seats. Some spectators were invited to the stage to taste the dishes and choose the best chef.

Actor Soo Seong Huyn, who plays Red Chef, has been part of the show since 2011. He said the role has become deeply meaningful and important to him.

It was his first performance in Vietnam, and he said he was curious and nervous because he did not know how Vietnamese audiences would respond to his character.

The artists also performed acrobatics, martial arts, and b-boying, drawing cheers and applause from the audience.

“Chef Show” has performed in 101 cities in 38 countries, from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in the U.K. to Japan and Kazakhstan.

About half of the audience were primary school students. The children appeared particularly excited by the Korean artists’ performances and were delighted to learn that they could take photos with the performers and receive souvenirs in the lobby after the show.
